To the Editor:

I am writing to thank the Killeen Daily Herald for running the series on agencies receiving funding from the United Way of the Greater Fort Hood Area.

These agencies, diverse in nature and mission, address the needs of every segment of our community every day.

These needs range from basic survival concerns such as food and shelter to other necessities such as medical care, and to quality of family and life issues such as activities for children and youth, counseling and education.

What these agencies do day to day improves the quality of life in Killeen and surrounding communities and makes this a great place to live and work. We all need funding to operate successfully and to expand services.

Please donate to the United Way as part of your charitable giving in 2014.
