To the Editor:

I was reading today’s paper where a chemical plant is coming to Killeen.

I cannot believe this is happening. I use to live around the petro chemical companies in Texas City and Deer Park.

The smell was awful and there was always the possibility of an explosion.

You think West’s explosion was bad — their population was nothing compared to the Killeen- Fort Hood-Harker Heights areas.

This plant is going into a populated area. What’s the matter with our city government?

Money isn’t everything.

So I urge you to read the article again and read that they will be making hydrogen peroxide. To date there has never been a hydrogen peroxide explosion, that I know about. The plant in West was making fertilizer which uses large amounts of unstable metals. Why not ask the unemployed Killeen residents how they feel about a large company coming into our area and providing them a job.
