To the Editor:

I just ran a mile in my sandals. Was this for fun or fitness? No, it was to save my life.

I live in a very residential neighborhood in Killeen. A pack of four big dogs — one husky one pit bull, I think — were in the 4600 block of Teal Drive at 10:30 in the morning. Lucky this time I didn’t fall.

On a similar escape from an attacking loose dog two weeks ago, I fell on my tailbone and hurt for a week. I have called 911, sent messages to animal control, What else can I do? The officers I talk to all ask if I was bitten. When I say no, it’s as if “no harm, no foul.”

I will keep on sending messages and calling, though.

Recommend you get a CHL and learn how to use a pistol.
