To the Editor:
I am referencing the poll question concerning the closing of the VLA community theater (See above).
This came as a terrible surprise to me and my family. We had no idea of this happening until I saw it in the Killeen Daily Herald.
I want to thank the Herald for its coverage of this tragedy. This city is losing the arts right and left. The theater needs to be saved.
The plays are fun to be in and to go to. The casting is open to any and all interested individuals. If you fit the part in the play and want to work hard, the part is most likely yours. The theater is open to all members of the community.
I have seen the beginnings of this theater with the late Ron Hannemann and then Eric Shephard, both excellent artistic directors in their own right.
We all need to pull together to keep it going. I’m not much on logistics, but will help in any way I can.
