To the Editor:

Thanks to Kyle Blankenship (KDH) for the excellent article concerning the collapsed/broken spillway in Nolanville (Oct. 12).

I can personally state that I have seen two marked Nolanville city vehicles at that spillway collapse site with men looking at the damage months ago. I have also seen law enforcement vehicles at the same site with officers looking at the damage and I have seen a WCID #3 (Nolanville water district) truck at that site with men looking at the damage. Since it is on the main entry/exit roadway into Pecan Village, it is easily to see when vehicles are stopped there (especially marked vehicles) and equally easy to see when people are looking at the damaged area.

It is obvious many people knew of the damage but what a shame no one thought to report that damage to the proper department or individual at Nolanville City Hall. Hard to believe, isn’t it? It is a serious problem that has needed attention for months. Thank you, Killeen Daily Herald, and Mr. Blankenship for helping our community and for putting our safety first.
