To the Editor:
Obamacare reached out and touched me and I didn’t even have to sign up!
First, I received an eight-page letter saying they had informed Medicare not to pay the hospital for my two-day emergency room stay for congestive heart failure.
Next, I received a letter saying I could be subject to financial liability for my stay. I’ve heard the IRS could take over the system.
Just think, all 350 million of us Americans can have a busy bureaucrat (not a doctor) at the Internal Revenue Service overrule judgment of the doctor who treated you. This can give you the opportunity to pay for your hospital stay out of your own pocket.
I wonder if the Affordable Care Act is what the president meant when he promised change. I don’t remember anyone asking.
