One co-pay, lower costs a plus of Triacare Express Scripts

To the Editor:

I read a letter recently about using Express Scripts and I disagree with it 100 percent (Letters, Dec. 9 KDH).

My wife and I have Tricare for Life and have been using Express Scripts for five or six months now and have no complaints. When I used a local store for our prescriptions, there was a co-pay with each item.

Since I signed up with Express Scripts I only have a co-pay with one prescription. An example: at a local store, a three-month supply cost me $25, and with Express Scripts, it cost me $9 for same three-month supply. There is no co-pay for my other items.

Not only that, we are signed up for automatic refill, so when the time comes for refill, Express Scripts calls to let us know what item is being shipped and when it should arrive. The only thing that will prevent using Express Scripts is if you have part D in Medicare.

Now when we go to doctor and get a prescription we need at once, we go to our local store and get the item there and pay the co-pay. So it can work both ways.

There is an old saying “try it — you might like it.” If not, cancel.
