To the Editor:

In a community where there are many seniors, it seems that the Killeen Community Center is choosing to disregard them.

Pickleball is a sport that can be enjoyed by all ages. It is safe, challenging and provides a great physical outlet, especially for seniors.

The Community Center, in a cost- saving move, is considering eliminating this activity from the center.

This is ludicrous, since the center is void of activity during the afternoon, an ideal time for the sport (Young people and adults should be in school or work at that time).

The city of Killeen needs to support all of the population, including seniors.

It appears that solving budget concerns means eliminating programs for the elderly.
