To the Editor:

Sunday is Easter.

People living in Central Texas and across America will attend sunrise services observing the Resurrection of Christ.

We give our children Easter baskets filled with candy and eggs, drape ourselves and families in new clothes bought specifically for Easter, attend Easter egg hunts and celebrations that denote a day lost in its true meaning.

Christians and anyone who celebrates Easter for any reason other than Christ died and rose on the third day so we may live should have their WWJD (What would Jesus Do) badge revoked!

What Jesus or any loving, compassionate deity would do in today’s world is nothing close to what most of us practice.

Jesus lived to love, save and give everyone the ability to choose life and choose it more abundantly.

He died so that we might love, give and live a life lifting one another up.

I wonder how Jesus feels as he observes us judging, blaming, segregating, killing, raping, denying basic necessities of life to our neighbors, soldiers, children, veterans, women, the poor, homeless, co-workers, the least of us and anyone who doesn’t look like us, talk like us or live like us?

We have negated the very reason Christ lived as a human and died for us.

Religious rhetoric drowns out reason as we live by our own doctrines loudly proclaiming “In the name of Jesus, Amen.” PLEASE start living the word and stop spouting it.

Opposition to everything and everyone who doesn’t agree with Christian and American values doesn’t mean they are loved any less by Christ or that they don’t love God.

Isn’t it time that we think, feel and live spiritually and cast off our old skins? What do I mean? I mean dispense with dead ways of believing, seeing, thinking, and relating to one another.

The earth erodes as have our morals.

If we don’t shed the poisonous and sin- filled lives camouflaged as living,we will sooner or later be forced to transform, and not when Jesus returns.

3 days. That's how the Romans counted it. The 1st day, the last day, and the day in between. Nothing to do with hours. They were on the Roman system.

All one has to do is look at the comments...

If Jesus were to return today, he'd be crucified again. Only this time it would be by today's so called "Christians"... shameful.

Mamma Griz it’s obvious you are not a Christian so this will be hard for you to understand. Christians do not practice birth control or use contraceptives let alone abortions. Yes there are Protestant churches that do this it started in 1932 with the Anglian church in England. Nowhere does the Church or Bible support this—fact! The Catholics that do this are misguided or small c cATHOLICS which means they’re fallen away Catholics.

As for the millions back alley abortions the lawyer that represented Roe in Roe vs Wade years later said, “I made it up.” He lied so what you’ve read is a lie please put down the Kool-Aid.

It’s also obvious you don’t have a clue about Planned Parenthood. PP is the largest abortion provider in the World. The majority of profit they make is from abortions it is NOT minor—put down the Kool-Aid.

At a March 1925 international birth control gathering in New York City, a speaker warned of the menace posed by the "black" and "yellow" peril. The man was not a Nazi or Klansman; he was Dr. S. Adolphus Knopf, a member of Margaret Sanger's American Birth Control League (ABCL), which along with other groups eventually became known as Planned Parenthood.

You talk about women’s heath but don’t care about the baby’s health what a hypocrite you are.

The majority of abortions mills in the United States are in minority neighborhoods—why do you think that is Mama Griz? White people in the South can’t hang black people on trees anymore they go after them in the womb! Again put down the Kool-Aid.

My Lord and Savior is Jesus Christ not G. W. Bush however I will point out The W never supported abortion your savior Obama does. So please get educated before you challenge me on the evil of abortion. Oh abortion was alive and well just before the fall of the Roman Empire—think about it?

Today men are just so laughing at all the free sex they get because if they get a woman pregnant they tell her to go to an abortion mill and kill it. They take no responsibility at all and women like you drank the Kool-Aid.

Wanted to bring to any interested readers attention, the spoken and printed facts of which members of congress have been involved in arguing for the rights of, and have always supported Planned Parenthood.

And then the one's who have argued against the right of those who state they have a legal right to eliminate unborn babies, and even those who have been born, but are still eliminated.

The below will show that ,

No, its not all of congress who are in agreement with this right to eliminate these unborn, only some, but mostly always the same liberal ones.

The below was published in 2011- however the same feelings along that side of congress still holds true, They always have a reason why its O.K. TO KILL A KID-

When people are preaching to others about how God /Jesus would be disappointed in the ways of the world today and how man/woman aren't living the way they believe God/Jesus would want.,

I believe the biggest disappointment will be, knowing that God said to go forth and multiply ,but some have chosen to not abide by that command.
Have chose instead to eliminate the life He has chosen to send to earth.

The group Planned Parenthood try to sell a bill of goods by stating how much they do for the women of today. Some fall for it, its easier to go along then argue or to educate yourself in whats really happening.

However there are people who have been involved in this group Planned Parenthood, who tells what they have saw and participated in until they were so sick of seeing babies killed (in the most horrible ways)they knew it was wrong and removed themselves away from it:

Planned Parenthood Clinic Director Joins Anti-Abortion Group

    excerpt;

"I had never seen an abortion happen on an ultrasound," she said. "My job during the procedure was to hold the probe on the woman's abdomen. I could see the whole profile of the baby 13 weeks head to foot. I could see the whole side profile.
I could see the probe. I could see the baby try to move away from the probe."

Oppose Pence Amendment to Bar All Federal Funding of Planned Parenthood and Proposal to Eliminate Family Planning (Title X)

Members of Congress joined today with Planned Parenthood Federation of America to speak out against the House leadership’s assault on women’s health, including proposals to completely eliminate the National Family Planning Program (Title X) and pass the Pence bill to bar any federal funds going to Planned Parenthood for health care of any kind.

Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), the ranking member on the Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Services Subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee said, "The American people want Congress to work together to address their top priority: creating jobs. Instead, the Republican majority, in a breathtaking and radical step, has proposed to eliminate Title X funding, which has connected millions of American women to health care since 1970. This Republican Congress is trying to turn back the clock on women’s health and turn back the clock on women’s basic rights. They are taking us back to a day when family planning was not a given opportunity for women. Instead of making it harder for women to get health care, we should be standing up for these vital services. And that is what I will continue to do, on behalf of American women and the families I represent.”

Rep. Nita Lowey (D-NY), in introducing an amendment to restore funding for Title X, said, “Congress should use the continuing resolution to create jobs, not to further the extreme assault on women’s reproductive rights by eliminating the cost-effective family planning program. We all agree we must cut spending, but it is reckless to eliminate programs that save taxpayer dollars. In New York, more than 311,000 women are served by Title X-funded clinics. That is why I will offer an amendment to restore $317 million for family planning.”

Rep. Lois Capps (D-CA) said, “If we really want to reduce the need for abortions and reduce the federal deficit, we should double the funding for family planning and preventive care, not eliminate it as is being called for by anti-choice members of Congress. Studies have shown that such an investment could reduce unplanned pregnancies, prevent and detect diseases like cervical cancer, and save taxpayers nearly $2 billion per year. While we all agree about the need to reduce wasteful spending, eliminating a successful program that saves the taxpayer money and provides critical health care services to our mothers, sisters, and friends is just a bad idea.”

Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) said, “The real impact of eliminating the Title X program and prohibiting all federal funding for Planned Parenthood, one of the largest women’s health providers in the country, is that millions of women across the country will lose access to basic primary and preventive health care, including lifesaving cancer screenings, family planning, contraception, STI testing and treatment, and annual exams.”

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) said, “Instead of going after unemployment or getting our economy on track, Republicans are waging a war against women, and women are taking note. They want to shrink government so small, that it just fits inside our bedrooms. Republicans have proven with their package of anti-choice, anti-women’s legislation they are working to undermine access to reproductive health care. Now, they have launched an all out assault on birth control, family planning, and in specific on Planned Parenthood, which plays an absolutely essential role in our nation’s health care system. Planned Parenthood is really the brand right now for women’s health care. Last week, 99 of my colleagues joined me in sending a letter to Speaker Boehner strongly opposing Representative Pence’s legislation, which is squarely targeted at Planned Parenthood.”

“For 95 years, Planned Parenthood has been a trusted health care provider. One in five American women has received care from a Planned Parenthood health center during her lifetime, and last year three million patients came to one of our more than 800 health centers. We are trusted by millions of women and families, and we deliver care to women who need it,” said Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. “What many people don’t know is that more than 90 percent of our health care services are preventive. We are an expert in family planning — and last year, we provided birth control to nearly 2.5 million patients. In fact, every year we prevent an estimated 612,000 unintended pregnancies.”

On Friday, 100 members of Congress signed a letter showing widespread support for Planned Parenthood. The letter declared, “We are writing to strongly oppose efforts designed to undermine women’s access to basic, preventive health care and the women’s health providers they rely on in their communities. In particular, we are deeply concerned about the impact that H.R. 217, the ‘Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act,’ [Rep. Pence’s companion, standalone bill] would have on American women and their families. H.R. 217 is aimed squarely at Planned Parenthood health centers.”

In addition, House members are planning to host a Special Order Hour on Tuesday evening, to focus on the House leadership’s attempts to eliminate the Title X national family planning program and to strip all federal funds from Planned Parenthood.

Just last week, under the guise of deficit reduction, the House Republican leadership continued their assault on women’s health by announcing two extreme proposals that target women’s health care programs and women’s health providers.

In the House Appropriations Committee’s FY11 Continuing Resolution, they proposed to completely eliminate the Title X family planning program. This program has provided millions of American women with lifesaving health care since Richard Nixon signed it into law in 1970. Gutting Title X would deny five million American women preventive care, including annual exams, lifesaving cancer screenings, contraceptive services, and testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections.

In addition, Rep. Mike Pence — with the full support of Speaker John Boehner — announced that he will offer an amendment to prohibit all Planned Parenthood health centers from receiving any federal funds to provide affordable cancer screenings, birth control, HIV testing, and testing and treatment for other sexually transmitted infections.

To underscore the far reach of Rep. Pence’s proposal, it would also cut off the approximately 1.4 million Medicaid patients served by Planned Parenthood from their source of health care. Forty-eight percent (approximately 1.4 million) of Planned Parenthood’s patients use Medicaid for their health care coverage, and as a direct result of the Pence amendment, they would lose access to their health care provider.

In doing so, the Pence amendment also reverses a long-standing patient protection in Medicaid law that ensures that Medicaid patients can access family planning services with any willing provider.

Rep. Pence’s proposal is an unprecedented, ideological attack on a specific health care provider that will result in more women losing access to the very basic health care they need.

More than 90 percent of the care Planned Parenthood health centers offer is preventive, yet Rep. Pence is steadfast in wanting to defund Planned Parenthood, because it also provides women with abortion care.

Dr. Strangelove:: From your comments, it looks like you have no earthly idea about the subjects of abortion or of Planned Parenthood. Do you recall when abortions were done during other presidents terms in office. Abortions are nothing new-- at least there is a chance that they are NOT done in back alleys with coat hangers. Yes, that is how they were done in the past. No, I never had one-- I never needed one. But I recall reading about that-- and there were many instances where girls went to the hospital ER bleeding like a stuck hog following a botched coat hanger abortion. President Obama isn't the first president to have to deal with that-- apparently you figure nothing like that happened under your savior George Bush's reign. Get your brains out of your pants and think! And as for Planned Parenthood, they have been active in health screenings for people who can't afford a doctor, they give contraceptive advice-- apparently things that you know nothing about or don't care to know anything about. They do many things that pertain to a woman's health. But you don't care, do you. All you can think of is abortions-- which is a minor part of Planned Parenthood. Why don't you try to learn something before you speak!!

everything is jacked up mainstream teachings have moved away from the bible - God's Truths. Christ left an example in John13:12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? 13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. So, what do we do? Teach out children to hunt for eggs, chocolates in the image of bunnies - all pagan-rooted symbols of fertility. Further more, Christ did not die on Good Friday and Rise on Easter sunrise - that too comes from the catholic teachings. Matt 12:40 says he was dead THREE DAYS and THREE NIGHTS. John 11:9 says there's 12 HRS in a day - given both FACTS - it is mathematically impossible to squeeze 72 HRS at sundown Friday to Sunrise Sunday - its a Lie! But there is a right answer - it started with Passover, footwash, 1st Unleavened Bread Day, the Last Day which was a High Day.

I agree and it starts with leadership. When people voted for a President that voted to allow babies to die on a table when the baby survives an abortion our country is in sad shape. I’m Catholic and I see over 50% of cATHOLICS voted for a political party that supports the ripping of limbs off little babies and flushed down a sink. I tell these small c cATHOLICS get behind me Satan! Today it’s about me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me!

Oh one more thing this President and Congress puts workers on furlough yet spends over 400 million dollars for Planned Parenthood—think about it?
