To the Editor:
Can anyone figure out why we should house, feed and clothe children who are here illegally, when we can’t do the same for our own people?
If their parents can give a “mule” thousands of dollars to bring them to the United States, why don’t they use the money to move the family to a different, safer area in their own country?
Check with your local schools and see how many students are homeless.
How many of our veterans are living on the streets because they can’t find a job and have no income?
How many people are working and are homeless, because they don’t make enough money to pay the first and last months rent, the utility deposits, and the monthly payments, plus food, clothes and now school supplies?
Have we ever had shelter for the homeless in bad weather? Oh yes, for a few days or hours when it’s the worst.
We’ve heard talk about it over the years, but only talk.
Let’s take care of our own first, please.
