To the Editor:

Reading the opinion section of the Killeen paper this morning (April 26), I noticed and read the editorial stating that Trump should stop playing game of budget brinkmanship.

Notice your piece talked about the partial shutdown but also failed to bring up the fact that due to Obama not wanting to work with the GOP, he and the Democrats did play the same game and failed, shutting down the government.

I do not remember the paper back then ever talking about how Obama should stop playing that game. But then, during the eight years he was in office, he and the Democrats made it a point, as they are doing now, of not working with the GOP — you know, the old “it’s my way or the highway” attitude.

So it that what this paper is really stating?

As I recall, the republicans held a majority in both the house and senate during the last 6 years of President Obama's administration. It was the conservatives who refused to work with him, not the other way around.
