To the Editor:

When is our government and the insurance companies going to wise up and quit wasting our money, because of the droughts Texas is having to endure?

My nephew from Florida called me and asked why our government has not gone to the coast and installed a system that would take the salt out of the water and pipe the water up through the state to relieve the water shortage during our times of drought. The governor of Florida did that very thing to relieve the drought conditions and save these crops: oranges, grapefruit and farmers and the ranchers animals.

The money that was spent on fighting fires could have been saved. They would have had the water resources at hand. When are people going to stand up and oppose the wasteful use of our money and resources?
