To the Editor:

I was saddened to hear of the recent fatal shooting in my neighborhood. I’ve known the person who committed this act for more than 30 years.

He always seemed like a very nice person and it is hard to believe he would shoot someone. He used to say hello to my kids as they went up the street to Ellison High School more than 30 years ago and always asked me  about them now when I would pass by with my dog.

This is tragic for both families. We all need to think more about love and less about hate.
