To the Editor:
Here we go again. Yet another shooting. More dead in another tough gun-law state.
This time two New York firefighters were murdered while responding to a fire and two others and a policeman were wounded. As usual, only the criminal shooter, who cares nothing about the law, was armed.
This took place in New York with the toughest anti-gun laws in the nation. How much did those New York “gun bans” help the dead and wounded firefighters? Do you think perhaps the outcome could have been different if those firefighters also had the means to protect themselves?
Watch and see; the liberal-progressive “loony tune” gun ban idiots will use this as another excuse to ban guns when all logic, reason and just plain common sense would tell you that the opposite reaction would be best.
Allow law-abiding adults, trained in the use of firearms, to own and carry guns everywhere.
Don’t leave them at the mercy of criminals who don’t care about or follow any laws, especially strict gun laws like they have in places like New York, California, Illinois and Connecticut.
The strictest gun laws in the nation did nothing to protect those firefighters any more than they did those poor school children in Newtown, Conn. And as usual, the police were too late to respond and protect anyone.
If you can’t protect yourself and your loved ones, you’re toast. Own a gun and train with it. Know how to use it. Get a concealed carry permit that only law-abiding adult citizens can obtain.
Allow law-abiding, background-checked, mature college educated teachers to conceal carry on their persons while in school if they want to. Let them have the means to protect themselves and their students. If they can’t be trusted with a gun, then who can?
Stop this anti-gun and anti-Second Amendment nonsense once and for all. As the NRA chief, Wayne LaPierre correctly said: “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun.”
