To the editor:
In the Killeen Daily Herald newspaper dated Monday, June 5, there was a report on the F grade given to Killeen, Shoemaker, and Ellison high schools.
Right next to this report on those test results was an article about the Killeen Independent School District board set to vote on new $1 million scoreboard.
It looks like the most important thing is not the students but the need for a new scoreboard.
This may be the reason for our failing school system.
Football and other sports are more important than an education that will prepare students for college or for any kind of work.
Maybe we need a new school board instead of a new scoreboard.
