jbtsr: My generation was born in a ready-made-world. Everything was given to us. Convienent and available. We did not have to fight for fair wages, equal rights, in huge battles - they rarely vote, address their officials, attend council meeting to watch how their elected leaders use taxdollars - absolutely nothing! But let Black-Eye Friday come and they flock to the shopping center for a flat screen TV and other material goods. My generation should be ashamed of the dishonor we have shown to the MLK's, veterans of war, Ceasar Chavez's, because the price paid for my generation to become complacent and willingly ignorant - was paid in blood. We didn't have to fight for anything.

Mamma Griz: Isn't it a durn shame that Nelson Mandela passed away when he did! Why couldn't he have passed away at some other time of the year. Maybe closer to Veterans Day-- but somebody would gripe about the flags being at half staff to honor him. For some reason I didn't need anybody to tell me the flags were at half staff for Pearl Harbor Day-- I remember that day very well. Guess these young things don't remember it. Maybe those young things need to learn the true reason of December 7-- and it was not because of that one man.
I have yet to learn just why the younger people are so bitter that they have to concoct some reason to gripe about everything. Just wait till you learn about how things were under previous presidents.

Eliza: You're correct on that, Both races ,all races who consider themselves Americans will end up suffering because of the liberal agenda that is being caused by this admin. and that agenda isn't finished yet. There are 3 more years, even the ones who voted for this man will suffer in some way or a family member or friend. They aren't needed any longer.MLK was a good man, he wanted to help all the races. He had no use for the liberalism that is becoming the downfall of the country. The only time MLK is needed now is if 'they' think his name can be used to gather more of what they are after, your liberty.

Smithjr38: Those whom don't remember history are doomed to repeat it.
That honoring Mandel a commie from a forgien nation makes no sense to me.
The US has MLK and he was not a commie and would have made a good US President as unlike the current President MLK did not want to change the US but to allow blacks to join go in the prosperity that was taking place at that time.and be on the inside looking out and not outside looking in as the current President has done to both races in the USA.

barbie500: I was surprised at the lack of mention of Pearl Harbor and Dec. 7, it was like an after thought and yet there are so many other things that aren't half as important as Pearl Harbor that they play over and over again.
