To the Editor:

Dear family, friends, residents of Killeen and all areas represented:

There are not words that would ever adequately express the thankfulness I have in my heart. The outpouring of support is overwhelmingly humbling to my family and me.

This is, by far, the most difficult situation I have had to endure and a lot of my worries were eliminated by your support!

At the beginning of this nightmare, I began a list so that I would be sure to write thank-you notes to everyone. It became impossible to make a list.

At one fundraising event, there were more than 280 shirts sold. The online account set up for my family has approximately 500 donors, and while driving to bury my hero, countless residents were on the side of the road paying their respects. That is just what I know of so far. There are so many things going on that I don’t even know about, but I know it’s happening.

So, please as I say thank you, know that those words come from a deep place in my heart that I didn’t even know existed until now.

Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for your donations. Thank you for your support.

A special “thank you” to those who were there with Bobby when he took his last breath; if it couldn’t be me, I’m thankful it was you.

Thank you for helping honor my hero.

Kimberly Hornsby

My prayers are with you, may the memories keep him alive and you smiling. A life has been taken and the assailant has met his maker. While we all mourn this officer's heroic efforts I still question what about the Young family? Their son was gunned down March 6, 2010 at the Mickey's gas-station on 440. What about this family finding closure and being aided to justice? The Young's case has not gone "cold" (Mr. Baldwin) because the shooter is on record. Does the KPD even care about it's citizen or just "their" family? Does DA Garza even care? My final thought, while I mourn with the Hornsby family, I still say Justice for all!
