Pershing Park demo

Corbett and Roseanne Lawler enlist the help of fifth-grader Axel Rios to demonstrate the mechanisms of an 1800s-era water well Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Pershing Park Elementary School. The Lawlers, who reside on family property in the Maxdale area south of Killeen, demonstrated tools and artifacts common to 19th century life in America.

Belton council approves land purchase for water tank

BELTON — The City Council unanimously approved spending about $126,000 from the city’s water and sewer fund to purchase about 5 acres of land for a new 1 million-gallon water storage tank.
