Area police reports indicated:

A burglary of a residence was reported at 5 a.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of Stringer Street in Killeen.

A burglary of a residence was reported at 6 a.m. Wednesday in the 1600 block of Aztec Trace in Harker Heights.

A theft was reported at 9:14 a.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of West U.S. Highway 190 in Copperas Cove.

A theft of a vehicle was reported at 12:53 p.m. Wednesday in the 3800 block of Bolivar Drive in Killeen.

Possession of a controlled substance was reported at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 4400 block of Paintbrush Drive in Killeen.

Petco awards grant to Killeen Animal Services

Killeen Animal Services announced Wednesday it has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Petco Foundation to support funding that will be used to aid the Killeen shelter’s ongoing spay and neuter program and the care of animals that can be entered into the adoption program.
