To the Editor:

I learned the Killeen Meals on Wheels program has been short-handed and was able to volunteer to deliver meals during the holiday break because I had time off from teaching for KISD.

It was clear to me that this program provides hot meals to those who might otherwise have little else to eat. These elder and disabled members of our community need our help.

Think about choosing one day a week, or just two days a month, to volunteer a few hours during weekdays.

Volunteers bring smiles and lunchtime nutrition to shut-ins who look forward to seeing them at their door.

It doesn’t require extra training and the delivery transportation is provided.

One person can make a big difference.
