The first-ever Warrior Transition Unit change of command will take place at 10 a.m. today on Fort Hood’s Sadowski Field.

Lt. Col. Brently White will relinquish command to Lt. Col. Timothy Snider.

Col. Casper P. Jones III, commander of Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, will serve as host and reviewing officer. A reception is scheduled in the Darnall basement auditorium following the ceremony.

Snider, who has more than 24 years in the Army, comes to Fort Hood from Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., where he was a combat developer in the Capabilities Development Integration Directorate, Concept Development Division, WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) Concepts and Organization Section.

He is married with three children. The family resides in Springfield, Mo.

White will be leaving Fort Hood in a promotable status. His next assignment will be commanding the 4th Brigade, 98th Division (Initial Entry Training), in Beaver Dam, Wis.

White assumed command of Fort Hood’s Warrior Transition Unit in June 2007 after leading the Medical Retention Processing Unit since 2006.
