Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center is sponsoring the Sports Physicals and School Immunization Clinic at Fort Hood again this year on Aug. 11 Aug. 18. Both clinics are from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Thomas Moore Health Clinic at 58th Street and 761st Battalion Avenue.
Appointments are necessary and can be scheduled starting July 29 by calling 288-8888. To cancel an appointment, call 288-7777.
Children ages 4 to 18 of active-duty military personnel and retired military parents are eligible and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and dressed in gym clothing and shoes.
Only childhood immunizations required by the State of Texas for school attendance will be given at this clinic.
You may also make an appointment with your child’s primary care physician to have immunizations and a physical completed.
Required items include identification cards, immunization record, medical record and sports physical from school.
The Fort Hood Child and Youth Services requires physicals for all ages. Killeen and Copperas Cove independent school districts require sports physicals for only seventh, ninth and 11th grades unless there has been a change in the student’s medical condition since their last examination.
The Killeen Parks and Recreation Department does not require sports physicals for participation.
