COLLEGE BASEBALL: TC splits with Weatherford
WEATHERFORD — Temple College’s postseason hopes took another hit Friday with a doubleheader split against Weatherford. The Leopards won the opener 4-1 before dropping the finale 7-3.
Jesse Reed threw a three-hitter in Game 1 for the Leopards (25-20, 10-14 Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference), who scored twice in the first inning and never trailed while taking advantage of three errors by Weatherford (26-20, 16-8).
TC starter Jared Hart didn’t make it through Weatherford’s five-run third in Game 2.
“We have eight games left and realistically, we have to win all eight,” Temple coach Craig McMurtry said. “It’s not looking good for the playoffs. We’ll see how many we can win in these last two series.”
