COPPERAS COVE — Despite a roster full of inexperience, the Copperas Cove tennis team cruised to an 18-1 win over Shoemaker on Tuesday in both teams' season opener.

Eunji Cho, Allison Sprosty, Daniel LeGare and Austin Crowe are the only returning players for the Bulldawgs. They factored in five of Cove's wins, even with Crowe's absence.

Cove lost only in mixed doubles, where the Wolves' Darius Green and Maya Boomer took a 7-6 (3), 6-1 victory.

"With only two girls back and two boys returning, I wasn't sure what I'd see," Cove coach Paul Talbett said. "I saw a lot of fight and a lot of heart on the court today."
