Bob Maindelle Guide Lines Aug. 25

Fishing guide Bob Maindelle, right, poses with Australian freshwater fishing guide Matthew Langford on Lake Borumba in Queensland, Australia, in February. Maindelle made the trans-Pacific trip specifically to fish for summertime Australian bass using “heavy metal” lures like bladebaits and slender spoons in order to improve the services and results he offers his clients back here in Central Texas.

After hearing the phrase, “You just don’t know what you don’t know” at least three times aboard my boat in the last week alone from thankful anglers who learned valuable lessons while fishing with me, I thought I would write about the topics of continuous improvement and professional development for anglers.

In most all facets of our professional lives, be it in the military, in education, in medicine, in industry, in business, in ministry or in any other discipline, there is an expectation that you are not going to remain static.
