The weather was brutal on Tuesday night at Stillhouse Hollow Reservoir. But that didn’t stop 35 teams from entering the weekly Tuesday Night Tournament.
Heavy rains didn’t stop local anglers Rodney Thompson and Ronnie Reinhardt from winning a first-place prize of $1,240 with a three-fish bag of 7.47 pounds.
This was the second consecutive title for the Thompson-Reinhardt team.
Taking second place, and winning “Big Bass” honors, was Adam Glazener who only took in one fish but it was a whopper — a 7.41 pounder. Glazener’s usual fishing partner was unable to show up on Tuesday.
Third place went to James Millsap and Jody Berger who brought in three fish weighing a combined 6.7 pounds. Millsap and Berger, a consistently strong squad, won the TNT several times last season.
Fourth place went to Tyler Fonseca and Kenneth St Jermaine with a three-fish bag weighing 6.31 pounds.
This week, Thompson and Reinhardt go for the highly coveted “three-peat.”
What makes it such a highly coveted goal is because the “three-peat” has never been accomplished in the decadelong history of the TNT, which is sponsored each week by Tightlines Premium Fishing Tackle.
Last season, two different teams tried to pull off the three-peat but were denied.
“It’s a very tough thing to accomplish,” said Dean Thompson, co-owner of Tightlines. “There are so many talented anglers in this tournament each week. It’s very hard to even win a tournament. So to win three times in a row is extremely difficult.”
