GOLF Fort Hood’s Courses of Clear Creek gearing up for busy end of year

With the fall season and falling temperatures approaching, golf at the Courses of Clear Creek will be heating up. The facility has plenty of tournaments and events on the schedule over the next three months. 

The Club Championship is Saturday and Sunday. The fee for the 36-hole tournament is $125 per person, plus applicable green and cart fees.

The tournament is flighted after the first day and includes an awards dinner for players and guests after the second day, where the winner receives an etched trophy. On-site registration will be held from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m.

The course will host a Fall Demo Day and sale on Oct. 4. Merchandise purchases of $50 or more will earn a 10 percent discount. Many major golf companies will be on-site with their latest products.

Halloween will bring a Retiree Tournament with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Cost for the event is $45 and includes 18-hole stroke play and lunch.

Players at the Retiree Tournament will be flighted based on scores after the event. It is open to military retirees and spouses. On-site registration will be from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m.

Thanksgiving will come early on the course with the Turkey Scramble. The fee for the tournament is $50, plus green and cart feels, and lunch is included.

On-site registration is from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. and there is a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

There are still four more Phantom Warrior Scrambles remaining. Events will be held Friday and Sept. 26, Oct. 24 and Nov. 21.

Cost is $35 per person, with the option to purchase mulligans for $5 per person. Teams must consist of three players from the same division, directorate, battalion, brigade, company or branch and the scrambles begin with a noon shotgun start.

On-site registration for the scramble will be held from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m.

The Garrison Commander’s Tournament takes place Sept. 5 and Dec. 5. Cost of the tournament is $35 per person, with the option to purchase mulligans for $5 per person.

September will bring a total of six All-Level Ladies Clinics. The clinics will be held at 10 a.m., 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 9, 11, 16, 18, 23 and 25.

Cost for the clinics is $55 per person.

Every Tuesday is Ladies Day at the course. Ladies can enjoy twilight green fees and 10 percent off all in-stock women’s apparel purchases. Tee time registration is necessary.
