After beating Fort Bend Clements 56-37, Shoemaker dropping an overtime decision to the co-host Timberwolves, Shoemaker found out later that it won its pool at the Cedar Park/Vista Ridge Holiday Classic. Clements beat Cedar Park, but Shoemaker took Pool B based on point differential and will face Allen (4 p.m.) and Round Rock Westwood (8:30 p.m.) today at Cedar Park. Ray Willis led Shoemaker (13-4) in scoring in both games, putting up 16 against Clements and 12 against Cedar Park. Chris Runnels had 10 in each games, while Shane Johnson scored 10 against Clements and Renard Thomas put up 10 against Cedar Park.
The Grey Wolves put Clements away with a 33-18 second half. Against Cedar Park, Shoemaker led 27-23 at halftime before the Timberwolves closed the gap to force the extra period. A 9-5 advantage there gave them the win.
