Topps trading cards released a special collectors set Friday in time for the Winter Olympics, including Killeen local Olympic hopeful Kehri Jones on her very own trading card.
The latest set has added nearly 50 new athletes, including Jones’ bobsled partner Elana Meyers Taylor and is celebrating the legendary career of alpine skier Lindsey Vonn.
Vonn will chase her third Olympic medal in Pyeongchang, South Korea, and each set will include two Lindsey Vonn Career Milestone insert cards.
Each box also includes U.S. Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls with one autographed card along with two relic cards that feature a piece of Team USA apparel worn by the athlete.
Fans have the chance to find autographed cards from Vonn, alpine skier Bode Miller, figure skaters Meryl Davis and Charlie White along with rare autographed cards of past figure skating champions Brian Boitano, Johnny Weir, Kristi Yamaguchi and Michelle Kwan.
Meyers Taylor and Jones took second at the 2015 U.S. push championships in Lake Placid, New York, in their first competition together.
Since then, the duo became one of the top teams, including breaking the track start record with a time of 5.12 seconds at the 2017 world championships in Koenigssee, Germany.
Jones announced earlier this month on her Facebook page that she would not be participating in the 2018 Winter Olympics after not being chosen as one of the four members of the Team USA Women’s bobsled team.
Topps has been the official trading card partner for the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic teams since 2012.
The cards are available at hobby shops and can also be purchased online at Topps.com, where the set lists for $84.
The Winter Games begin on Feb. 9.
