Claim to Fame: The younger sister of Justine Hartwell (Clarendon College) was a 2011 All-District 12-5A second-team infielder and received consideration for defensive player of the year as only a sophomore. She has also seen time on the mound this season for the Lady Bulldawgs.

The Lady Dawgs are 2-5 in District 12-5A play, what can you do to turn around in the second half of the district season?

"It is going pretty good, we just have to get the bats on the ball and hit it."

You lost to Belton 5-2 on Saturday, but limited the Lady Tigers to only eight baserunners. How do rate that performance?

"I thought I did well. I could have done better, though."

How did you end up with your jersey number (2)?

"I just have always had that number. I got it when I got to high school."

How did you start playing softball and why did you stick with it?

"I started with my dad when I was in city league six or seven years ago and I stuck with it because I just liked to play and it was fun."

What is the best part of your softball game and what do you want to improve on?

"I feel good that I struck out a lot of the (Belton) girls (Saturday) that I didn't think I could, and I can improve on my batting. I am so focused on hitting a home run when I am up at the plate, but I need to focus on just getting the bat on the ball and getting a hit."

What do you do to get ready for a game?

"I just talk with my friends, really."

What do you enjoy outside of softball?

"I just like hanging out with my friends - go to the movies, go out to eat.

What is the last movie you saw and did you like it?

"I watched 'The Hunger Games.' It was really good."

Did you read the book first?

"No, I just went and saw the movie."
