Military Appreciation night at the 28th annual Bell County Rodeo took place Thursday night. Military guests and other rodeo enthusiasts watched a night of bareback riding, steer wrestling, tie down roping and more events at the Bell County Expo Center.

Duane Biels, co-chairman of the Bell County PRCA Rodeo Committee, has been working with the rodeo for 20 years. He said the committee starts monthly meetings in the summer, then weekly meetings in September until showtime in February.

The Bell County PRCA Rodeo is held in conjunction with the Bell County Youth Fair. The net proceeds from the rodeo are distributed to scholarships and other programs benefitting the youth of Bell County.

Tommy Worth, from Killeen, won tickets to the rodeo from a radio contest. He had been calling in all month attempting to win a set of tickets, and won the last set that was given away Thursday morning.
