Megan McKinnon led the way with 15 kills and five blocks Friday as the Ellison Lady Eagles won on the road at Killeen, 24-26, 25-25, 25-23, 25-17.
Megan McKinnon added 10 kills and two blocks. Malaysia Grant had 26 assists and Kortni Taylor provided nine aces.
Burnet def. Shoemaker 25-13, 25-16, 25-23 - At Burnet, the Lady Wolves fell in three games.
Hailee Showers led the team with seven kills and three aces. Tearra Roberson added seven kills and nine assists. Naiya Porell chipped in eight digs.
Shoemaker's next game is at Jarrell, where it hopes to improve on its 10-8 record.
No. 5 Gatesville def. Mexia, 25-12, 25-15, 19-25, 25-21 - At Mexia, Glynna Johnson paced the fifth-ranked Hornets with 21 kills, six aces, and nine blocks.
Kaitlyn Poe had 29 assists and four aces to help Gatesville improve its record to 21-2. Skye Truss recorded 12 kills and nine digs.
The Lady Hornets next play at Waco University on Tuesday.
Leander def. Belton, 25-16, 25-5, 25-12 - At Leander, the Lady Tigers were unable to mount a consistent offensive attack causing them to lose in three games.
Kaitlyn Dunahoo led the team with three kills, while Maggie Kramer provided five assists.
One of the few bright spots for Belton was the defensive play of Kansey Williams and Brieanne Brown, who both contributed 11 digs.
Cedar Park Vista Ridge def. Copperas Cove, 25-16, 25-14 25-20 - At Cedar Park, Andrea Hurt led the Lady Bulldawgs with 11 kills, but it wasn't enough in their three-set loss on the road.
Qiana Canete added seven kills, while she and Brittney Johnson each tallied two blocks.Jessica Vick and Claire Taylor each had 14 digs, while setter Amy Rosenbaum put up 25 assists.
