The 1st Cavalry Division celebrated the Army's 238th birthday June 14 with a cake cutting at the division headquarters at Fort Hood, Texas. The cake is cut "Cavalry Style" by using a Saber and the youngest, Pvt. Joseph Mlachak, 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cav., and oldest, Chief Warrant Officer 5 Jeanne Pace, commander for the 1st Cav. Div. Band, Troops in the division assist the commanding general, Maj. Gen. Anthony Ierardi (center right) and command sergeant major, Command Sgt. Maj. James Norman (center left).
