“Living Nativity adds new Living Element in Killeen”

Killeen, TX, November 17, 2015 –

First United Methodist Killeen will add a new living element this year to its’ 7th annual Living Nativity and ‘Walk through Bethlehem’ on Dec. 4th and 5th from 6:30 – 8:30p.m.  This year, in partnership with the Harker Heights High School Future Farmers of America (FFA), live sheep will be participating in the story, a first for the church.

Guests will witness a reenactment of the events leading up to the birth of Jesus Christ and be treated to a guided tour through the streets of the village to see what life was like on the night Christ was born.

The town will come to life at Methodist Park, located at the corner of East Elms and Cunningham roads. Visitors will walk through the real buildings and interact with townspeople, merchants, artisans, and characters from the nativity.

“Bethlehem is getting to experience the best gift ever given to us at its’ beginning,” says Sarah Stone, Director of Student Ministries who will be playing Mary, Jesus’s mother, this year.

Bryan Charlton, the event’s director says, “Nowhere else locally do you get to witness such an amazing gift and have the opportunity to fully experience and be visually transported back in history. You can do everything from learning, touching, smelling, tasting and mingling with the villagers to get a grasp of what life must have been like back then.”

The cost of admission is a canned food donation or monetary gift per person. The collected food will go to the Killeen Food Care Center.
