The Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors chose Frames and Things, in Cove Terrace, as their October Business of the Month.
The banner was presented to owner Robert Weidinger II and his employees Monday, along with a lunch certificate from Chick-fil-A Cove for up to 10 employees.
“It was fantastic. It caught me off guard, because I had just come back from a trip and I walked in on this,” Weidinger said. “I hadn’t been in the office but maybe 10 minutes when they hit me with this.”
Weidinger, who also helps run the Five Hills Art Guild and put together the first mural in Cove, said he and his employees enjoy doing anything they can to help out in the community.
“We were excited about this. Any time we can do something to improve our town, we jump on it,” he said.
Although Frames and Things only recently rejoined the chamber as members, the business’ long record of helping out the chamber whenever needed was one of the many factors behind choosing them, said Marsha Siler, ambassador from Brand Financial.
“He gives so much to the community with the Art After Dark (First Fridays), his painting classes (Cork and Canvass) every third Wednesday, and anytime the chamber needs anything, he gets involved,” Siler said of Weidinger. “He’s also involved and does so much for the community with the morning Exchange Club and the Five Hills Art Guild. We just wanted to let him know that he’s doing great things.”
