George Dramis is a World War II veteran of the long-classified "Ghost Army" that faked the whereabouts of U.S. Army divisions in the days after the D-Day invasion at Normandy in 1944 is seen Saturday, July 23, 2022 in Raleigh, N.C. 

RALEIGH, N.C. — When World War II veteran George Dramis came home, he didn’t talk much about the war. If someone asked what he did there, he’d tell them the truth: He was a radio operator.

But there is much, much more to his story.
