Where are you from originally?

I am originally from Jamaica.

What brought you to the area?

My husband got stationed here back in 2013.

Tell me about your family.

I have a wonderful husband named Ian Bernard. He is currently retired from the military. I have two great children, a daughter named Ianna, age 17, and a son named Jonathan, age 15.

What is your profession?

I am a licensed hairstylist.

How long have you been doing hair?

I have had my license for six years. I have been braiding hair since I was 15 years old.

Where is your salon located?

My salon is located at 600 Indian Trail, Suite 205.

Who is your biggest clientele?

I do all types of hair and styles. However, my biggest clientele are the kids. I am really gentle on the kids’ hair for all those tender-headed babies. I do a lot of natural styles and protective styles for your hair.

What is your favorite restaurant in Harker Heights?

My favorite restaurant in Harker Heights is IHOP.

Where is your favorite place to shop in Harker Heights?

My favorite place to shop in Harker Heights is Ross.

What do you dislike about Harker Heights?

At this time, there isn’t anything that I dislike about Harker Heights.

What community work do you do?

I donate items and volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House in Temple. I do the little girls’ hair at my church for the dance group. I do school packages for kids going back to school during back-to-school time.

What is the last movie that you saw?

The last movie that I saw was “Bad Boys III.”

What was the last book that you read?

The last book that I read was a women’s daily devotional book called “Too Blessed to be Stressed.”

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years, I plan on having my clientele growing and possibly a kids salon, which is exactly what I am aiming for.
