Abbey Karcher had nine kills and a block, and the Belton volleyball team improved to 3-0 in District 12-6A with a 25-22, 25-17, 25-20 home sweep of Ellison on Friday.

Emily Holder recorded seven kills, eight digs and 17 assists as the Lady Tigers handed the Lady Eagles their first 12-6A loss.

Other Belton contributors were Eli Smith (six kills), MyKaela Johnston (two blocks, two kills), Tori Maldonado (13 digs) and McKenzie Mansell (two aces, eight assists).

The Lady Tigers have a bye Tuesday before traveling to Copperas Cove on Friday.

Salado volleyballers fall in 5 sets

The Little River-Academy volleyball team rallied to beat Salado 20-25, 25-7, 23-25, 25-8, 17-15.

Sophomore Lainey Taylor had 11 kills and two blocks for Salado.
