Temple’s Dallas Hankamer shot the low round of the tournament, a 6-under 65 on Tuesday, to finish in a tie for second place at the Legends Junior Tour Collegiate Preview.

Hankamer, who ended his sophomore season at Belton High School in May by placing third in the Class 6A state tournament, finished with a three-round total of 207, tied with 36-hole leader Treed Huang (67-69-71) of Katy.

Shaheen Momin of Sugarland posted the tourney’s second-best round, a 66, to win by three shots at Mira Vista Country Club in Fort Worth.

Hankamer started the day in a tie for fifth, six shots off the lead. He made four birdies and an eagle in his bogey-free round. The eagle came on the par-4 eighth hole when he chipped in from about 60 yards out.

The Collegiate Preview is a 54-hole stroke-play event for players with an active membership with the Texas Junior Golf Alliance and that are 14 years or older and not yet enrolled in college.
