Emri Lovell and Empress Roberts each scored 11 points to lead No. 19 Harker Heights to a 63-22 win over Killeen in the Lady Knights 12-6A home opener on Tuesday.

Heights (16-2, 2-0 12-6A) limited the Lady Roos to six baskets. Killeen was held to four points in every quarter but the second.

The Lady Knights led 19-4 after one quarter and 38-10 at halftime.

Sierra Brooks and Celise Bobbitt each had nine points for Heights. Angelique Morgan added eight.

Taniya Harrison led Killeen (3-11, 0-2) with nine points.

SALADO GIRLS 57, NO. 18 WACO CONNALLY 48: At Salado, Kaia Philen scored 15 points, Lorena Perez grabbed 20 rebounds and Salado upset the 18th-ranked Lady Cadets.

Salado trailed 33-32 at halftime.

Katie Law had seven points and 10 rebounds for Salado. Reese Preston had eight points and five rebounds off the bench.

NO. 9 ELLISON BOYS 80, COPPERAS COVE 44: At Ellison, Shamir Bogues and Jamyron Keller scored 17 and 15 points, respectively, before yielding to backups in the fourth quarter of the Eagles’ district-opening victory.

SHOEMAKER GIRLS 32, BELTON 26: At Shoemaker, Kathryn Ruiz had nine points and five steals and the Lady Grey Wolves won their District 12-6A opener.

Jameesha Reece added seven points and five steals for Shoemaker (6-8). Novotny Smith had six points and seven steals.

Belton fell to 0-2 in 12-6A.

LAMPASAS BOYS 48, GEORGETOWN GATEWAY PREP 42: At Georgetown, Jett Bramon scored 21 points and Badgers rallied from an early 14-2 deficit to pick up a road win.

After the dismal start, the Badgers outscored the Gators 24-11 to take a one-point lead at halftime.

Bramon made five of the Badgers’ seven 3-pointers. Nate Borchardt made the other two and added 13 points for Lampasas (6-5), which is 5-5 on a monthlong road trip that concludes at the Hamilton tournament beginning Thursday.

The Badgers open play against Brady, which beat Lampasas 48-47 on Dec. 3.

NO. 15 STEPHENVILLE GIRLS 55, GATESVILLE 41: At Stephenville, Jettie Funderburgh made four 3-pointers and scored 13 points to lead the 15th-ranked Honeybees past Gatesville.

Allaiya Jones led the Hornets with eight points.

Gatesville (5-6) led 12-11 after the opening period but was outscored 33-11 over the second and third quarters.

Stephenville was the sixth ranked team the Hornets have faced this season. Gatesville is 1-5 in those games.
