The University Interscholastic League released conference cutoff numbers and preliminary enrollment figures for the 2020-2022 reclassification and realignment on Tuesday.

Gatesville is the lone area school that will be significantly affected in Feb. 3’s realignment. The high school’s snapshot enrollment of 851 taken on Oct. 25 will drop the Hornets from Division I to Division II in Class 4A. The Division I cutoff was 865.

The Hornets are likely to reunite with former rivals Waco Connally and Robinson, but not Lorena, which is dropping to 3A.

In Division I, Gatesville played in one of the toughest districts in the state the last two seasons with Brownwood (873), Stephenville (1,061), Waco La Vega (915) and China Spring, which is also moving down with an enrollment of 851.

Waco, the smallest school in 12-6A, was just four above the 5A cutoff of 2219.

Florence (347) was just three below moving up to 3A-Division I.
