The eighth-ranked Lampasas Badgers scored touchdowns on each of their first six drives and rolled to a 56-0 victory at winless Taylor on Friday.
Ace Whitehead opened the scoring with a 10-yard run and also tossed 30-yard first-half TD passes to Brenton Webb and Cameron Everts as Lampasas (7-1, 3-0 14-4A, Div. II) raced to a 42-0 lead at the break.
Daunte Cuffie scored twice in the opening half on runs of 13 and 4 yards.
Jack Jerome tacked on a 3-yard TD run with 3:08 remaining in the second quarter to make it 42-0.
Dax Brookreson recovered a fumble in the first quarter that led to the Badgers’ third TD.
Everts got behind the Duck defense on the opening play of the second quarter for his TD catch.
Lampasas scored on the first play of the second half when the Ducks fumbled and the Badgers returned it 18 yards for a score.
Cuffie finished the scoring with his third touchdown from 11 yards out with 26 seconds remaining in the third quarter.
It was a typical offensive showing for the Badgers, who are averaging 54 points per game.
The Badgers share the district lead with Fredericksburg, which won 33-20 at Canyon Lake.
Lampasas hosts Canyon Lake next Friday.
