Fort Hood officials say a soldier was found dead near Belton Lake on Tuesday.

According to a news release, Army officials saidSpc. Alexander Michael Johnson, 21, was found dead near the Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area's paintball court.

The release did not say what time Johnson was found, nor did it indicate a cause of death.

Johnson, whose home of record is Mulberry, Fla., entered active-duty military service in July 2013 as an AH-64 Apache attack helicopter repairer, according to the release. Johnson was assigned to 615th Aviation Support Battalion, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, since March 2014, officials said.

Johnson’s awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.

According to Fort Hood officials, the incident is currently under investigation.
