A soldier was found dead at Fort Hood, post officials said today.

Officials said the soldier was found deceased in a vehicle on post in the vicinity of the Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area. They did not confirm when the soldier was found.

"I can tell you that at this point in the investigation we don't have any evidence of foul play, but have not completely ruled it out in order to conduct a complete and thorough death investigation," said Chris Grey, spokesman for the Army Criminal Investigation Command, the lead agency in the case. "No other information on the investigation is available at this time."

Officials have not released the soldier's name, saying they will wait until 24 hours after next of kin have been notified.
