The Texas Department of State Health Services added 945 new coronavirus cases to the state's tally Thursday, bringing the total to more than 52,000. The state also reported an additional 21 fatalities Thursday.

Currently, 225 of 254 counties in the state have reported positive cases.

1,791: Lab-confirmed COVID-19 patients currently in Texas hospitals
