Police in Harker Heights have issued a warrant for a person accused of seriously injuring another someone in an assault case.
Officers were sent to the 1600 block of Yuma Trail at 7:34 a.m. Monday in reference to an assault report, according to the Harker Heights Police Department.
A male was unable to identify the suspected attacker at the time, according to police who did not identify the suspect in the case.
Detectives were able to get a search warrant for the location of the attack and the information they found was sufficient to coordinate with the Bell County District Attorney.
An arrest affidavit was presented to Justice of the Peace Bill Cook and an arrest warrant has been issued for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon with a suggested bond of $100,000.
The name of the male is being withheld until his arrest and arraignment, according to the police department.
The male who was assaulted was originally transported and received treatment at Seton Medical Center, but was airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple due to the seriousness of his injuries, police said. He is currently listed in critical condition at the hospital.
