The most significant gang presence in the Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood area is from the Gangster Disciples, according to a news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety released Tuesday.
Officials have also reported a high presence of the Aryan Brotherhood and the Aryan Circle from northern Travis County up to Bell County.
The Bloods, Surenos, Crips and Gangster Disciples are the most active street gangs in Region 6, which includes Bexar, Bell, Williamson, Travis, Coryell and McLennan Counties among others.
The Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang was also listed as having “high activity.” Members of the Bandidos have pleaded guilty to their involvement in the 2015 Waco Twin Peaks restaurant shootout.
The information was published in the July 2017 version of the Texas Gang Threat Assessment. The full report can be found at www.DPS.Texas.gov.
