BELTON — Aniceto Ebale Vargas was twice convicted for assaulting a family member in Bell County and then was convicted of family violence assault enhanced.
Vargas, 38, of Killeen was indicted Wednesday by a Bell County grand jury on a charge of assaulting a family/household member with previous convictions (habitual offender).
The indictment said that on Oct. 28, 2016, Vargas intentionally caused bodily injury to a woman who was both a family and household member. He reportedly hit her on her head, face and body.
Previous convictions were on March 15, 2013, and May 5, 2006, in the County Court at Law Number 2 in Bell County.
Vargas was convicted on Aug. 13, 2009, for family violence assault-enhanced and on March 25, 2004, for burglary of a habitation, a felony.
He was released Nov. 14, 2016, on a $5,000 bond set by former Bell County Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin, Bell County Deputy Chief Chuck Cox said.
