GAS PRICES

The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in the Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood area was $2.69 on Saturday. That’s 10 cents more than a week ago and $1.17 more than this time last year, according to AAA.

Here’s a look at the local, state and national prices.

Local prices

In Killeen on Saturday, Gasbuddy.com users reported the cheapest gas selling for $2.53 per gallon at Walmart, 1380 Lowe’s Boulevard.

Sam’s Club at 600 W. Central Texas Expressway was selling the cheapest gas in Harker Heights on Saturday at $2.49 per gallon.

In Copperas Cove, gas was last reported as selling for $2.69 per gallon at multiple gas stations including the Alon at 102 W. U.S. Highway 190, GasBuddy.com users reported.

Gasoline was last reported as selling for $2.54 per gallon at two AAFES on Fort Hood, including 325 37th St., according to GasBuddy.com.

State, national prices

The statewide gas price average is $2.76, which is 10 cents more than last week and $1.21 higher than a year ago, according to AAA.

The national gas price average is $3.04, which is 8 cents higher than last week and $1.17 higher than a year ago, the AAA website showed.
