Texas Rangers are investigating a officer-involved shooting that happened on the 1500 block of Robertson Avenue Sunday afternoon.

There are still questions to be answered surrounding an officer involved shooting in Copperas Cove Sunday afternoon.

It’s still unclear as to who fired shots or why at the scene located in the 1500 block of Robertson Avenue.

Police responded to the area at approximately 12:43 p.m. Sunday and discovered that an off-duty police officer had been involved in a shooting incident, according to a news release from the Copperas Cove Police Department.

The officer was not injured, however, a female driver sustained non-life threatening gunshot wounds and was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, according to the release. No other information was released Sunday.

The shooting is being investigated by the Texas Rangers.

The Killeen Daily Herald reached out to the Copperas Cove Police Department with further questions Monday morning, but they declined to comment at this time.

The Herald also sent questions over to the Department of Public Safety, which oversees the Texas Rangers. DPS has yet to reply.

I read the story on another news site. At no time did the man identify himself as a cop. She did a u-turn to go back to a hospital she just left because she didn't feel well. He also turned around a put his civilian vehicle in front of her and slowed down, probably trying to stop her. She passed him, then he passed her and stopped, blocking her. Again, at no time did he identify himself as a cop and he was driving a civilian vehicle. She was holding her hip in pain, got out to ask him what the problem was. She then returned to her vehicle to leave, he got out, followed her and shot her 6 times. If that man is not charged for attempted and completely unjustified homicide and sent to jail then we will know all we need to know about cops and the cop brotherhood. I look forward to the results of the investigation.
